20 acres of pasture, orchard and woodland, with a creek running through it are home to Quennell Lake Livestock Conservancy, a private breeding facility for endangered livestock, poultry and equines.
Our mission is
• To maintain viable breeding populations of selected endangered breeds and promote these breeds to the farming community and the general public;
• To develop and promote environmentally, socially and economically sustainable farming practices that are well adapted to our local landscapes and climate;
• To provide learning and training opportunities for children, young people and those with challenges.
We currently work with five breeds of chicken, one breed of duck, one breed of goat and Spanish Mustang horses.
The farm is also home to Diversity in Agriculture Consulting and, of course, our small therapy centre.
